APPARA STUDIO x STUDIO ARVIA
Taipei City, Taiwan
Studio Arvia and APPARA share a studio conceived as a quiet retreat for creative work. Tucked into a softly lit corner of the city, the space embraces a Wabi-Sabi philosophy—calm, tactile, and unhurried. Walls are left bare in places, allowing texture to speak. A palette of ivory, walnut, and muted tea tones lends warmth without assertion, while light moves gently through oxidized iron, raw wood, and coarse stone. The open layout balances stillness and flow. Communal zones dissolve into alcoves, giving each function its own quiet rhythm. Boundaries are softened rather than drawn—suggested through material, light, and proportion. Linen, hemp, and aged timber ground the space with a sense of ease and presence. Furnishings are few but intentional. A long worktable anchors the room, flanked by utilitarian seating. Vintage pieces and custom forms sit naturally beside one another. Objects—textiles, carved stones, open books—are placed lightly, not as decoration, but as evidence of work and time. The result is not styled but lived—a space quietly in use.
